Change the World Day
Each year in May, BBUMC joins United Methodist from across the country to help Change the World. Sunday starts with a short worship service, followed by mission activities in the church, in the local community and in Detroit. All are welcome and activities are designed for all ages and abilities.
Three times a year guests from Cass Community Social Services are our luncheon guests – February, July and October. At Christmas we supply the gifts for their party. Each gift contains a warm top, 2 pair of socks, hat, scarf, gloves and a bag of candy.
Lighthouse of Oakland County
BBUMC supports children and families with an annual hat and mitten drive each winter.
Red Cross Blood Drive
BBUMC hosts a Red Cross Blood Drive four times every year. Many members of the congregation take advantage of the convenience of donating right in the church building. The blood drive is always open to the public, and anyone can make a reservation, or simply walk in.
SHARP, Senior Home Assistance Repair Program, was originally started at BBUMC . This program provides free home repairs to seniors and disabled residents in Troy. While the program has expanded to four cities, BBUMC still provides financial support as well as volunteers.
